Harvest Host Location
Getting there
This farm is located in Wytheville, Virginia. I found it easy to get to from Interstate 81 or 77, less than 4 miles from these main thoroughfares. Once you turn onto Turley Farm Road, it does become a dirt road, but it’s less than a mile to the property.
With this being my first stay on a Harvest Host property, I was a little nervous starting down the dirt road. I was not sure what to expect. The host Tom was amazing and met me at the beginning of the property and led me across the “bridge”, which is more of a one lane road over Cove Creek.

He escorted me to the barn, my parking spot for the night, and got Willow all hooked up. Once settled, I was given a tour of the property and met all the alpacas. They were fantastic….. friendly, sociable, and beautiful to look at. I don’t want to play favorites but I became quite fond of Ninja while I was there. He spent the night behind me in the barn and was the first to great me in the morning.

Tom and Kim have the cutest little store on the property. I was very excited to send souvenirs to my family from an alpaca farm! I picked out some slippers, an alpaca stuffed animal and postcards. Other things I noticed for sale were yarn, socks and teddy bears. For a small mailing fee, Kim offered to send out the purchases, which was very convenient. If you can’t make it to the farm, you can order items from the store on their website.

I had no issues getting into the spot next to the barn and for a nominal fee, I was able to plug into 30AMP service. This location was peaceful, quiet and a great place to reconnect with nature. I enjoyed sitting outside for the evening, watching the alpacas roam the fields with the ambiance of glowing lightning bugs.
For my first Harvest Host location, this was a great experience. I am so excited to try more of their locations. If you’re not familiar with Harvest Host, you can get more information from their website, linked below. Also, using this link gives you 15% off the membership fee.
